Nature and Birdwatching Trips – up to 2 hours

Tens of thousands of wading birds and waterfowl spend their winters here and we offer specialist trips to observe the birds in their natural habitat. Through autumn and winter thousands of ducks, geese and wading birds arrive to feed on the mudflats and saltmarshes. Large flocks of Brent Geese arrive in late October, and through the season waders including Curlews, Oystercatchers, Dunlins, Grey Plovers, Bar-tailed Godwits and Redshanks can be spotted.

Birds of prey such as Peregrines are regularly seen hunting flocks of waders across the saltmarshes, and Red-breasted Mergansers and Great Northern Divers can also be seen looking for fish in the channels.

  • Expert commentary from our team who will point out internationally-protected species and share key facts
  • Binoculars available to borrow or bring your own
